Usage
Tazorac (Tazarotene) is a prescription medication for treatment of plaque psoriasis and acne. The active ingredient of Tazorac is tazarotene. This is a topical medication which is intended to be applied to the skin. Tazarotene is a type of medication called a retinoid which is similar to vitamin A. The mechanism of action of tazarotene is unclear, though, it is thought to inhibit the excessive cell growth and keratinisation seen in psoriasis. It therefore reduces the thickening of the skin, plaque formation and scaling. Your doctor may recommend it for other purposes not listed
Side Effects
The common Tazorac side effects may include:
• Burning, warmth or tingling of the skin;
• Peeling or irritation of the skin;
• Soreness where the drug was applied
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any of the serious side effects that include severe allergic reaction such as shortness of breath, swelling of face or mouth, or hives.
